Welcome to CPR TrainingatSt. James Catholic Church8412 Whitefield Ave Savannah, GA 31406-6198 |
This training program can make St. James one of the most heart-safe congregations in the world.
We are fortunate to have a Southside Fire Department Ambulance station so close by, but because treatment for a cardiac arrest cannot wait for the ambulance, we hold classes in Bystander CPR, full CPR, and defibrillator usemonthly. And, while you are here, we'll teach you the Heimlich maneuver and stroke recognition skills - all within an hour.
Bystander CPR includes some material that has not yet appeared in the curriculum of certificated CPR classes, because the content of those courses is driven by the guidelines that are released in years ending in a "5" or a "0". Bystander CPR class is recommended for holders of CPR certificates, because it covers what someone needs to do if one witnesses a sudden cardiac arrest or a stroke This couse is not a substitute for certificated training if your employer requires a certificate. If you hold a current Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR Certificate, you should renew that certification with the Red Cross (912-651-5323) or with Rescue Training (912-692-8911). If you are considering employment that would require certification, you should contact one of the above organizations for certificated training.
